The Project Manager is responsible for the direct management of projects and the supervision of assigned team members. The Project Manager is responsible for designing the project plan, meeting all project objectives, and serving as client liaison.  This individual must demonstrate strong management and supervisory skills, mastery of construction claims analysis techniques and client management experience.

Primary Duties

  • Main point of coordination for all project documentation
  • Prepares detailed plan for tasks and resources that is consistent with the budget and time frame presented to the client
  • Responsible for adjusting plan as necessary based on progress and outcome of analyses and communication to the client
  • Responsible for identifying changes to project plan that need to be communicated to the client
  • Outline and draft sections of deliverable and compile drafted components into coherent draft including all sections of deliverable
  • Perform advanced analysis and coordinate work of others
  • Compile and maintain detailed records of work product and supporting documentation
  • Responsible for budget tracking and invoice compilation
  • Identify and pursue membership in relevant industry organizations (AACEI, local contractor or construction law organization, etc.)
  • Contribute to staff training, development and performance reviews as necessary
  • Contribute to marketing and business development efforts as necessary

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Finance or Construction Management
  • 1-3 years of industry experience specifically in the analysis, development and preparation of construction claims Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, and/or construction cost management
  • EIT, PE, or CPA certification desired
  • Hold or be willing to acquire industry specific professional certifications (CCP, PSP, CCIFP), as necessary

Preferred Skills

  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel, including the ability to input and compile data reliably and create charts and graphs. Experience creating and working with PivotTables and PivotCharts. Use of basic functions such as sorting, formatting, cell referencing, and basic formulas. Ability to work with advanced formulas including but not limited to IF, LOOKUP, CONCATENATE, Text and Date functions. Ability to sort, filter, and group data. Ability to insert and edit charts and tables and apply conditional and other advanced formatting as necessary.
  • High level of quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills
  • Desire to testify preferred by not required
  • Participation in business development and marketing services to construction attorney, owner, and contractor clientele preferred but not required
  • Construction field experience encouraged but not required
  • Experience with industry software programs such as:
    • Summation Pro
    • Relativity
    • Primavera P3/P6
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally (potentially for extended periods of time)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills
  • Experience with coaching and mentoring of team members
  • Fluency in English required, and other languages strongly considered as a plus
