Chad Hutchison is a Director with The Rhodes Group. He has more than 30 years of experience working in every major role spanning the entire construction life cycle. He is a recognized expert in the areas of critical path method schedule analysis, labor inefficiency analysis, and the quantification of construction damages. Chad has testified on more than 40 occasions in various forums, including arbitration, civil and federal court, and dispute resolution boards.
Chad has consulted on hundreds of construction projects in the infrastructure, institutional, healthcare, commercial and industrial industry sectors. He routinely performs analyses of project delays and impacts, labor resources and productivity, and construction cost. He is a skilled estimator with extensive field experience.
Chad provides dispute resolution services for a wide range of complex construction issues. His expertise includes estimating, CPM scheduling, construction cost analysis, damages quantification, project management, and the design and implementation of custom project controls. He has also developed training programs as to best practices across disciplines and within organizations, in addition to serving as an owner’s representative. Chad has served as a primary operational leader in construction dispute resolution and advisory services for multiple construction programs spanning over 15 years. Drawing on his extensive experience, Chad helps contractors and owners to mitigate schedule and cost risk during the course of construction.
Prior to joining The Rhodes Group, Chad was the founding principal of Hutchison Construction Consulting and an expert witness and principal of global consulting firms, including GlassRatner, and Navigant Consulting, where he served as Project Advisory Services Leader of the Americas and managing director responsible for Atlanta operations.
Chad’s industry experience includes work as a surveyor and field engineer for J.A. Jones and as a superintendent and estimator for Kiewit, where he performed estimating, scheduling, and field supervision on a number of projects. During his time at Kiewit, Chad worked on the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Concourse E, where he was intimately involved with scheduling and supervision of site utilities, grading and concrete construction. He also served as project engineer of the A.T.S.F. Bridge & Highway Project in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and had direct responsibility for scheduling, cost control, and crew supervision. Chad has served as lead estimator for several major infrastructure projects including the Watkinsville Georgia Bypass Project, the Memphis International Airport, multiple GDOT and FDOT projects, and the MARTA Medical Center Station.
Chad has provided training courses across the U.S. and internationally based on organizational operational assessments including the implementation of recommendations for construction companies, owners, engineers and law firms centering on the provision of project advisory services.
