When the construction manager for a new casino in Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania needed a CPM scheduling consultant they selected The Rhodes Group to develop and maintain the project schedule.  The project scope included the brownfield construction of a 450,000-square-foot casino, a 3,800-space attached parking garage and a riverside amphitheatre.

The 3,200-activity schedule included all phases of work from procurement through completion of the facility.  The Rhodes Group’s scope included the coordination of multiple subcontractors, as well as the incorporation of information from several outside agencies.

The CPM scheduling services provided by The Rhodes Group included:

  • Development of the overall integrated 3,200 activity CPM baseline schedule
  • Preparation of bi-weekly and monthly schedule updates
  • Preparation of schedule narratives
  • Review and assessment of schedule impacts and delays

The Rhodes Group participated in frequent project site meetings with the construction manager, subcontractors and site personnel to review and update progress to the CPM schedule.

Over the course of the 20-month construction project, The Rhodes Group provided bi-weekly and monthly CPM schedule updates used in job planning and progress tracking.  The Rhodes Group prepared schedule narratives as necessary and worked to incorporate dynamic site conditions into the schedule to contemporaneously status project activities and impacts.

Now a part of Pittsburgh’s iconic riverfront, the high profile project was completed on time and the Rivers Casino held its Grand Opening as anticipated in August 2009.
